Rustmere
Forty years after the Fall, the old reservoir town of Rustmere is a ring of scrap walls around a poisoned lake. You walk in from the wastes with nothing but a pack and a bad cough.
Old Gus hands you a bent rod. Wrench lends you a crowbar. The rest is up to you.
- Fish the Mere: mudskippers off the rusty jetty, three-eyed carp in the Sludge Canal, glow bass below the dam, and two legendary catches that fight back.
- Strip the scrapyard: car wrecks, dead generators, server racks and tank hulks give up scrap, wire, circuits and armor plate.
- Dig the crater: copper down to glowshard, smelted into ingots at Brick’s furnace.
- Cook, craft, purify, barter: The Last Drop’s cookpot, Wrench’s workbench, a still that turns poison into clean water, Mags’ bazaar stall and a job board of settler contracts.
- Weather the storms: dust storms bury the scrapyard, and when they pass, every wreck is full of fresh pickings.
- Dig out the Ironclad: an armoured train half-buried in the dunes. Strip it, restore it, and run cargo down the line to Ironhollow.
- 20 connected quests across 8 settlers who talk about each other.
- 9 ventures, from a worm farm to a rail company, that keep earning while you’re away.
- Rebuild the settlement: cleared roads, a bazaar canopy, a schoolhouse, a seawall, a raft yard and a beacon tower, each changing the map stage by stage. Then swear the Founders’ Pact and do it all again, stronger.
Golden-hour dust, oil-drum fires, string lights, a sweeping searchlight and the faint green glow of the Mere at night. Every texture and sound is generated in code. Saves automatically in your browser.
